New Natural Gas Customers Can Be Green for a Month

WhiteFence helps Ohio and Georgia 'Go Green' with free renewable energy credits.

Houston, TX (PRWEB) October 3, 2008 -- Today, WhiteFence announced it will help natural gas customers 'go green' this winter with free Renewable Energy Credits. WhiteFence will give a Renewable Energy Credit to customers in the deregulated markets of Ohio and Georgia when they order new natural gas service through WhiteFence select sites: OhioNaturalGas.com, MoveGeorgia.com and GasGeorgia.com. This will help reduce their carbon footprint by 1,000 kilowatts of power or 35 therms of natural gas, which is equal to about one month of energy usage.

Renewable Energy Credits are an easy way for consumers to promote renewable energy even if they can't purchase energy from renewable sources at their own homes. Buying a Renewable Energy Credit through a WhiteFence site helps fund increased production of energy from renewable sources such as wind, biomass, and hydropower. Each Renewable Energy Credit purchased ensures an additional 1,000 kilowatts of electricity from renewable sources are pumped into the electrical grid.

"Fall is the perfect time for people to make sure they're getting the best deal possible with their natural gas service. WhiteFence will help consumers compare prices and select plans that are best for them prior to the dramatic increase in winter usage," said WhiteFence CEO, Eric Danziger. "And by giving away Renewable Energy Credits, we hope to encourage people to 'go green' this winter."

Through December 2008, when customers log on to WhiteFence select sites and place an order for natural gas service, WhiteFence will give customers a Renewable Energy Credit for free. Additional Renewable Energy Credits can also be purchased. OhioNaturalGas.com, MoveGeorgia.com and GasGeorgia.com are powered by WhiteFence.
