MSIT Introduces New Business Training Program

MSIT has introduced an innovative new online business training program for bookkeepers who need to upgrade their qualifications.

Brisbane, QLD, Australia (PRWEB) August 20, 2008 -- Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE (MSIT) has introduced an innovative new online business training program for bookkeepers who need to upgrade their qualifications due to the Australian Government's proposed legislative changes.

The proposed changes mean that bookkeepers who lodge a Business Activity Statement (BAS) for a company that is not their own must be registered as a BAS Agent and hold a Certificate IV in Financial Services (Bookkeeping).

To assist bookkeepers who don't currently hold this qualification MSIT is offering a Certificate IV in Financial Services (Bookkeeping) online as part of the Skills First program. Skills First recognises your existing experience gained through life or work which you may not have obtained a formal qualification for.

MSIT Business Education Manager Eileen Lockett said offering the program online, coupled with Skills First made gaining a qualification such as this easier than ever.

"Offering the Certificate IV in Financial Services (Bookkeeping) online means that participants can complete the program at their own pace within a 6 month period allowing you the flexibility to train and study and when and where you want," said Ms. Lockett.

"And the beauty of Skills First means that MSIT will work with you to identify your existing skills, and assess if you can then achieve a full or part qualification. This also helps to save unnecessary duplication of training, which saves you both time and money."

"This bookkeeping program is just another example of MSIT offering qualifications that are not only cutting edge but flexible so students can get the qualification they want when they want it," said Ms. Lockett.

To register your interest in the Certificate IV in Financial Services (Bookkeeping) program call the MSIT Customer Service Centre on 1300 657 613 or online at http://www.msit.tafe.qld.gov.au/rpl. Applicants must complete the program pre-assessment at http://www.msit.tafe.qld.gov.au/rpl to apply and should be existing workers in the financial services sector.
