We are all incredibly proud of both our staff and student efforts.

Winter Park, FL (PRWEB) May 16, 2008 -- Full Sail University (www.fullsail.edu) students, Chris Adams, Joshua Knight and Max Miller, won second place out of 193 entries in the College Feature/Shorts and Documentaries category at the 13th Annual Palm Beach International Film Festival's (PBIFF) Student Showcase of Films. The students won for their work, The Master, a 16mm short which was produced during their Film Production class at Full Sail.

The Master, a period piece of the 1930s, was shot entirely on Full Sail's campus using its state-of-the-art soundstages and Hollywood-style Backlot. "The resources that we have available on campus are incredible," said Joshua Knight, Writer and Producer of The Master. "Working alongside Full Sail staff and fellow students made this experience fun and educational."

Adams, Knight and Miller were joined by eighteen other classmates to produce the film during their eight week Film Production class. The student project examines the entire film process from scripting to postproduction in the 16mm film medium. The students became familiar with each of the positions involved in a professional film production through this hands-on experience.

Knight, who will graduate in June from Full Sail's Film Bachelor Degree Program, took the lead on entering the film into the PBIFF Student Showcase of Films in early February. Entries were submitted from numerous Florida Universities and the winners were announced on April 15th at a red carpet awards gala.

"The Palm Beach International Film Festival is one of the few film festivals in the world whose proceeds are channeled into film education," said Dave Franko, Program Director for Film, Full Sail University. "We are all incredibly proud of both our staff and student efforts."
