'Help As One' Launches Global Campaign To End Human Suffering
Non-Profit Organization to Kick-Off Global Awareness Drive in Los Angeles Sunday, August 31, 2008
Los Angeles, CA. (PRWEB) August 29, 2008 -- Help As One (www.helpasone.org), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization committed to helping children and families in poor communities improve their quality of life, as well as achieve lasting victories over poverty and AIDS for generations to come, announced today that it will be launching its international campaign to end human suffering Sunday, August 31, 2008 at The Kress in Hollywood, California.
The star-studded evening of complimentary food and drink will bring together celebrities, musical artists, invited guests and those committed to making change in the world. The focus of the evening will mirror that of the organization: to empower each individual to take a RIGHT NOW approach to the issue of human suffering.
The mission of Help As One is to serve individuals and families in the poorest communities in the world. Help As One is focused on creating and implementing innovative solutions and advocating global responsibility for the alarming living conditions in all parts of the world today. The organization is working to facilitate lasting change by:
- Building educational systems that utilize teaching professionals to impart knowledge of the skills families need to survive
- Providing economic opportunity and protecting local natural resources
- Delivering medical supplies and providing Doctors for treatment
- Supplying necessary food and clean, drinkable water
Guided by the good will of many caring people in suffering communities and the aid of its celebrity supporters, Help As One is committed to fulfilling its mission with both expediency and compassion. Beginning with South Africa, and ending only when its work is done, the goal of Help As One is to partner with other organizations to help the people of underdeveloped countries to become healthy and self-sufficient. The organization places special focus on children in poor countries because they believe by educating and empowering this new generation, they can prevent the spread of AIDS and the many factors that contribute to incessant poverty.
Born of one man's dream to combat human suffering, Help As One is a grand venture on a global scale. CEO Elgin Haynie was born and diagnosed with a condition known as Hemifacial (Craniofacial) Microsomia. At birth, the bone is his face was not fully developed, he was deaf in his right ear, and he had extra skin hanging from his face. Though his parents could not afford the cost of his 20-plus reconstructive surgeries, many wonderful individuals stepped in to assist the severely deformed youth including world-renowned physician Dr. Henry Kawamoto who generously offered his services free of charge. The love and support given by these individuals form the foundation of Haynie's existence, inspiration and his commitment to provide hope to other humans that are suffering in this world.
