FlyerTalk Salutes Pilot Known for Going Above and Beyond the Call of Duty

FlyerTalk founder, Randy Petersen, and several members of the popular online community treat United Airlines' Capt. Denny Flanagan to dinner.

Colorado Springs, Colo. (PRWEB) August 28, 2008 -- Members of the world's most popular frequent flyer community, FlyerTalk.com, have seen and done it all when it comes to traveling by airplane. On August 28, many of these FlyerTalkers will honor one of the most outstanding pilots flying today, United Airlines' Capt. Denny Flanagan.

Capt. Flanagan has received a great deal of media attention and recognition in the FlyerTalk community for his innovative and enthusiastic approach to customer service. In addition to his stellar piloting, he is well known for, among other things, distributing specialized "airplane trading cards" to passengers, personally thanking frequent flyers for choosing United, and snapping photos of pets being loaded into the cargo hold so that their owners will know they are on board.

The outing, which is taking place in Denver, will see about 15 members of the FlyerTalk community in attendance, many of whom have flown from other cities just to meet the captain. The dinner was initially announced in a FlyerTalk discussion thread.
