Bison Gear Debuts Pair of Parallel Shaft Von Weise Drop-In Replacement Gearmotors

New gearmotors available in AC 115/230V, 60/50 Hz and also permanent magnet DC 12V and 90V; torques to 600 in-lbs.

St. Charles, IL (PRWEB) August 28, 2008 -- Responding to the shortened supply chain needs of a broad range of established OEMs, Bison Gear & Engineering Corp. introduces its new VWDIR84 parallel shaft, fractional horsepower gearmotors designed as Von Weise Drop-In Replacements. The Bison VWDIR84 is available in 13 standard models, with output speeds from 6 to 85 RPM and torques from 50 to 600 in-lbs. Three models are powered by a dual voltage (115/230V), dual frequency (60/50Hz) permanent split capacitor 1/12 hp AC motor. Ten standard DC models are available driven by either 12V or 90V permanent magnet DC motors. The Bison drop-in replacements for VW84 gearmotors feature standard 0.75 inch output shaft diameter and built-in foot mounts.

"This is a proven design with a reasonably high overhung load capability of 250 pounds that makes it ideal in applications like foodservice, agricultural, and woodworking equipment, as well as electrical switchgear, conveyors and automated file systems," said Andy Petak, Bison Gear Regional Sales Manager. "The gearmotors are reversible and their grease lubrication allows mounting with the output shaft up, down or horizontal."

Manufactured in Bison's U.S.A. facilities to the highest quality standards to ensure dependable, long-life operation, Bison's new VWDIR84 gearmotors are available with U.L. and CSA recognition and are supported by Bison's solid application and design engineering support to customize standard models to meet specific OEM needs.

The VWDIR84 gearmotors are part of the growing Bison line of Von Weise Drop-In Replacement gearmotors, which encompasses over 75 standard models.
