Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 31, 2008 -- The Institute for Financial Literacy is pleased to announce that Deputy Assistant Secretary Dan Iannicola has agreed to give the Keynote Address at its 2008 Annual Conference on Financial Education. The Annual Conference will be held at the Westin Peachtree Plaza hotel in Atlanta, Georgia from Wednesday, September 10 through Friday, September 12, 2008.

The Annual Conference on Financial Education was established by the Institute in 2006, and is now in its third year. The Conference provides professional development and networking opportunities for individuals interested in financial literacy education. The Conference also offers attendees the opportunity to learn about current trends in financial education, develop funding strategies for financial literacy programs and advance the cause of financial education.

The theme of the 2008 Annual Conference on Financial Education is "Financial Education in a Changing Economy." As predictions of economic difficulty continue throughout 2008 and 2009, the demand for financial literacy education is expected to increase. The goal of the 2008 Conference will be to prepare participants for this increasing demand. The 2008 Conference will be held in Atlanta, Georgia and conference sessions will address the changing credit environment, long term financial strategies, risk management and program evaluation.

"We are honored that Mr. Iannicola has agreed to provide the Keynote Address at the Annual Conference on Financial Education" said Leslie E. Linfield, Executive Director of the Institute for Financial Literacy. "Mr. Iannicola has been an effective and tireless advocate of financial literacy education, appearing before Congress and throughout the country on behalf of the United States Treasury and as Executive Director of the President's Advisory Council on Financial Literacy. Mr. Iannicola's national perspective on financial literacy education will provide context for the work being done by attendees of the Annual Conference."
