DBSi Announces New Data Center in Lehigh Valley to Support Growth and "Wall Street West" Initiatives

DBSi Selects TEK Park campus for New Advanced Recovery and Hosting Technology Center

Bethlehem, PA (PRWEB) July 18, 2008 -- DBSi, the leading regional provider of high availability secure hosting, disaster recovery, and data center services; has announced today they will be opening their latest Advanced Technology Center (ATC) on the TEK Park campus in the western portion of the Lehigh Valley. Design began last year and Phase 1 is expected to be completed by late fall of 2008. This 228,600 square foot facility will help support increased demand for hosting, disaster recovery and workspace recovery services coming from DBSi's mid-sized to Fortune 500 clients in the mid-Atlantic region. This center will also facilitate additional capacity requirements of customers participating in the Wall Street West initiatives.

TEK Park ATC is the latest addition to DBSi's family of green data center facilities in the Lehigh Valley and Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. The ATCs are built upon a foundation of high availability, high density power and cooling, and robust connectivity. The TEK Park ATC will support high-speed synchronous and asynchronous data replication between all of DBSi's ATC facilities and many client locations in the region.

"The addition of TEK Park further enables DBSi to provide the greater New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Central Pennsylvania corporate markets with secure hosting and disaster recovery services outside of the metro threat zones. The existing power infrastructure at TEK Park will allow the facility to support very high density deployments of blade servers and other technologies. TEK Park will be enabled by our high-speed, low cost fiber networks to deliver innovative and creative solutions to a variety of industries, including back-office financial applications, healthcare, and other mission critical IT environments." said William Bachenberg, CEO of DBSi. "The very competitive operational costs inherent in northeastern Pennsylvania joined with DBSi's ability to deploy cost-effective Tier III and IV capable data centers made TEK Park an obvious choice to augment our existing capacity."

Wall Street West, a partnership of more than two dozen local, regional and statewide economic development agencies, technology investment groups, workforce development organizations, educational and research institutions and experts from the private sector was also a driving force in DBSi's selection of TEK Park. This private and public sector federal and state-funded initiative is designed to provide IT back-up and recovery resources outside the threat zones of NYC and northern/central New Jersey; DBSi and the Lehigh Valley are uniquely suited to fulfill that charter.

"While northeastern Pennsylvania is already a hub for financial-services and insurance companies, Wall Street West further strengthens the region providing a required service to companies in New York City and New Jersey that must protect their shareholders from the type of damage done on September 11, 2001." said Jim Ryan, Director of Outreach at Wall Street West. "We are pleased and proud that DBSi is continuing to expand its facilities and capabilities in the region."
