Lindeblad Piano Restores U.K. Family Heirloom that Connects Owner with Past

Kate Rose was looking for a way to honor the grandmother who taught her to play the piano as a child. When Kate acquired the actual Ibach piano she learned on, she turned to Lindeblad Piano Restoration to restore it to its original condition--even though it meant shipping it across the ocean.

Pinebrook, NJ (PRWEB) July 28, 2008 -- When Kate Rose of the U.K. acquired the Ibach grand piano her grandmother gave her lessons on as a child, the value that motivated her to restore it was sentimental. She decided that Lindeblad Piano Restoration was the right company to perform the job--even though it meant shipping it across the ocean. "I had so many cherished memories of playing the piano with my grandmother as a girl," said Kate Rose. "I felt that restoring it would not only honor my grandmother, but also help keep those memories fresh in my mind."

Rose was conducting online research when she came across Lindeblad Piano Restoration company's website located at www.lindebladpiano.com. Her grandmother was born in 1911 and Lindeblad had vintage 1911 Steinway grand pianos for sale. "I liked the look of some of the 1911 Steinways and the Lindeblads seemed incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about restoring pianos. They replied promptly to all of my queries and patiently advised me of all my options. I really liked the family feel to their business."

But then an even better opportunity presented itself. Rose acquired the Ibach from another family member. She asked the Lindeblads if they would restore it instead of the Steinway. "They had already started work on the 1911 Steinway when I acquired the Ibach," says Rose, "so I wasn't sure how they would react. But they were totally supportive of my change of direction and even arranged all the logistics for me, which was a god send."

"Piano restoration is a four generation family business for us," says Todd Lindeblad. "So we understand the importance of family heritage and tradition. We realized this was an opportunity to bring joy to someone on a deeper level than just preserving an instrument. It was preserving joyful family memories and we considered it a privilege to be part of it."

Lindeblad's skilled artisans invest many hours of detailed work into the restoration process to provide superior results. Each project involves several months of painstaking work, but when complete, the beautifully restored piano will look and sound like it's right off the showroom floor. "We consider each piano an individual work of art and use only the highest quality authentic parts because we're committed to restoring the instrument to its original specifications,"says Todd Lindeblad.

"When you trust a family heirloom into the hands of someone else, you have to feel confident they will give it the same kind of attention you do," said Rose. "I know the Lindeblads will provide that level of care and it gives me great peace of mind. It's hard to put a value on that."
