October Issue of OldWestNewWest.Com Will Feature Butch and Sundance's Buffalo, Wyoming, and Moab, Utah's Winter Snow Secrets

The October issue of the Internet e-Zine OldWestNewWest.Com Travel & History Magazine is now available online and it features travel stories about how to enjoy some of the West's less-traveled places to visit, including one of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid's favorite Wyoming saloons.

Cheyenne, WY (PRWEB) October 2, 2008 -- The October issue of the Internet e-Zine OldWestNewWest.Com Travel & History Magazine (www.oldwestnewwest.com) is now available online and it features travel stories about how to enjoy some of the West's less-traveled places to visit, including one of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid's favorite Wyoming saloons.

"This month we spotlight Buffalo, Wyoming, also known as the 'Gateway to Yellowstone,' but it's also one of the West's great historic towns," said Mike Harris, publisher. "The Occidental Hotel and Saloon is one of the West's treasured landmarks, and when you go visit the Occidental Saloon look for the bullet holes in the walls, reportedly made by Butch and Sundance."

Another feature story in the October online edition spotlights the New Mexico History Museum, now under construction and scheduled to open Memorial Day 2009.

"Officials promise us that it will be a world-class museum and that it will give visitors some of the latest interactive tools available to help them experience what more than 500 years of New Mexico history looks like," Harris said. "We give you a preview."

Other offerings in the online magazine include a look at Moab, Utah as a little-known winter snow playground; also the news that Grand Canyon National Park is planning a 'Celebrate Wildlife Day' on Nov. 1, and a profile of New Mexico Western author Melody Groves, whose fiction and nonfiction writings reflect the culture and history of the Southwest.

"We also have our weekly Western Travel Outlook report, with news about bargains and travel offerings Available to our readers, and updates on what's happening across the West," Harris said.

The October issue also welcomes two new additions to OldWestNewWest.Com Travel & History Magazine: Noted travel writers Paul Lasley and Elizabeth Harryman.

"It give me great pleasure to announce that Paul will be our travel editor, and Elizabeth will be director of audio/video content," Harris said. "They will be bringing expanded coverage of travel news and tips about the West."
