A British 'Rave Story' Brightens Club World's Darkest Hour. Hollywood Adaptation of London Book to be Shot in the USA, Europe and Canada.

With club-land becoming more dangerous and gun violence rising, Otiz F Angel's controversial new book 'Rave Story' is forcing readers round the world to remember the party movement's original ethos and rethink the meaning of the word 'Rave'. Attracting the glitz of Hollywood whilst promoting social and environmental awareness, this new breed street author is rapidly becoming the voice of the next generation of party-goers.

London, UK (PRWEB) November 19, 2007 -- For many outsiders, the word 'Rave' has always been synonymous with drugs, loud noise and anti-social behavior, but now raves are falling victim to inner city violence, with venues being made to drastically reinforce their security. From London to LA, shootings claim young lives on a near-weekly basis, but not even this could prepare the dance world for the recent despicable incident in Caracas, Venezuela, where four people were shot to death at a party forty-five minutes into a performance by renowned veteran DJ, Carl Cox.

However, a new phenomenon has emerged online as the buzz surrounding a self-published book; 'Rave Story' has become impossible to ignore. Catching the attention of clubbers and ravers the world over with its dynamic, profanity-sprinkled, black comedy-driven narrative, this book sets the record straight. A gritty, hard-hitting read, the message is nonetheless positive, reminding the reader of the fundamental ethos behind the rave scene: Peace, Love and Unity.

Based on his own memoirs and experiences within the rave and club scenes, 'Rave Story' tells of Otiz F Angel's progression from living the gangster lifestyle as part of a Jamaican crime family syndicate in the early 80s, to his involvement in the scene that would transform his life: Acid House.

"A peaceful mentality has always been at the core of Dance Culture, but mass commercialization of the scene has left the message diluted, with the feeling of togetherness replaced by a 'me first' mindset" says the North London record producer, performer and club boss. "The original, positive meaning of the word 'Rave' has been lost. As time went by, it became a dirty word; a pejorative description for a gathering of drug fiends - something I had to set right in my book."

Inspired by the unity and co-operative spirit of the rave scene, Angel struggled to put aside his criminal street life, instead channelling his energy and capital into a string of bold business ventures. First up was pirate radio station, Obsession FM. Following a long-running conflict with the broadcast authorities, Obsession was forced to shut down.

Undeterred, he immediately resurfaced with a much larger venture, creating the legendary rave organization[Electrybe to push the nascent sound of Jungle to thousands of London party-goers. After taking a sound system to the infamous Spiral Tribe rave at Castlemorton, Electrybe were outlawed by the new Criminal Justice Bill's harsh anti-rave clauses. Operations relocated to Ibiza where he created the lovingly-remembered Pure Pleasure parties. Fast forward to the present and Angel, now the owner of the international nightclub brand LOVE, is a driven entrepreneur pushing a socially-conscious agenda.

Hollywood stars to be featured in 'Rave Story' movie…

Rapidly becoming one of the most talked about books in its field, 'Rave Story' balances high-octane tales of international clubbing excess with the exploration of poignant topics such as the difficulty of turning ones back on street life whilst maintaining ties with relatives and childhood friends; forging a fast-paced, entrepreneurial career while raising a family and the struggle to achieve greatness when wealth, education and social background are against you.
Pre-production on the 'Rave Story' movie has already begun. Peter Mensah (300, Hidalgo, Jason X) has been confirmed to appear in the film, and actors such as Ving Rhames of Pulp Fiction fame and Human Traffic's Danny Dyer have approached to play key roles.

It's no wonder then, that it's no easy task to choose from the top publishers already clamoring at the door for the chance to take the book to retail.
